2024 Jayco Jay Feather Micro | Baird, Texas
The Jay Feather Micro is the lightest travel trailer offering from Jayco. It redefines just how light and compact an RV can be without compromising features or construction quality. Despite its small size, it still holds a 55-gallon fresh water tank, comes with 0-100-degree weather protection, and packs all the best features you’ve come to know and love from Jayco.
Four easy-tow models
The 2024 Jay Feather Micro is offered with four floorplans: 166FBS, 171BH, 173MRB, and 199MBS. At just 3,725 pounds, the 171BH is the lightest of the bunch. The 166FBS is slightly shorter — just under 20 feet long — but its slideout brings the weight to just shy of 3,900 pounds. The 199MBS is the largest and heaviest floorplan at 23 feet, 2 inches in length and 4,510 pounds. It also has a slideout and can sleep up to eight people, while the others sleep three to five.
The Jay Feather Micro’s tiny size and ultra-low weight make it a veritable boon for campers without heavy-duty tow vehicles, or for people who simply want to fit their RV into smaller spaces. Generally, a smaller RV means more access to a wider range of campsites.
Even the least capable midsize trucks can still tow the Micro, as well as virtually every full-size SUV plus a wide range of midsize SUVs. Compact SUVs like the Ford Escape and Toyota RAV4 tend to top out at 3,500 pounds of towing capacity, which isn’t quite enough, but anything bigger should be able to handle the Micro. And if you do have a big tow vehicle like a heavy-duty truck, pulling the Micro will feel effortless.
Fully furnished all around
Given how small the Jay Feather Micro appears from the outside, you would be forgiven for expecting the interior to be sparsely equipped. Yet Jayco has not only fully furnished the Micro, it has somehow given it a sense of airy spaciousness. Inside even the smallest 166FBS floorplan, the Micro offers a three-seat jackknife sofa with cup holders and trays, a dual-hinge 10-cubic-foot fridge, a bathroom with a large shower and skylight, a sizeable pantry, a three-burner range, a medicine cabinet, and a substantial number of overhead counters that help you stow away all of your things without cluttering the large, walkable center area.
On larger floorplans, you get a dedicated dining area, the shower gains a tub, and a Murphy bed for even more nighttime comfort. An outdoor kitchen — complete with an exterior fridge and LP quick-connect port — is set up below an 11-15-foot power-extendable awning. The Micro may be small, but it packs a huge punch in terms of features.
Solid construction for every climate
Look at any part of the 2024 Jay Feather Micro and you’ll see evidence of high-quality construction. Residential vinyl flooring, handcrafted hardwood drawer fronts, decorative backsplash, soft-touch bunk mats, and high-density dinette cushions all go a long way toward making the Micro feel like a premium product. And then, of course, there are all the features that aren’t immediately visible, but still just as important — like the PVC roofing membrane, the vacuum-bond laminated walls, and the Magnum Truss™ Roof System.
Along with the Climate Shield™ package, which ensures a comfortable interior temperature even in 0-degree or 100-degree weather, the Jay Feather Micro delivers an exceptionally complete and dependable camping experience. And it’s backed by an industry-leading 2-year limited and 3-year structural warranty, giving you even more peace of mind on your next camping trip — and the one after, and the one after that, and the one…well, you get the idea.
The 2024 Jay Feather Micro is an exceptionally well-packaged small RV and one of the best new RVs from Jayco. Get a closer look at its floorplans by paying a visit to RVs of West Texas in Baird, Texas!
